Corporative social media platform

A full-fledged corporate social network designed to bring colleagues together during a period of covid quarantine.

The task

The company employs 1800 people

The task was to improve communication between workers. Give them the opportunity to share their thoughts with colleagues. Give the opportunity to express yourself, discuss interesting topics and share experiences.

To implement this task, a team was created consisting of developers, team leader, and two UX UI Designers including me

The company already had a corporate portal that published company news. But it was moderated by special employees, it was not convenient, and only a few employees used it.

We began to study the experience of other companies with a large number of employees.

Hypothesis

The current internal site, serves as a blog and is not very popular among employees, as there are problems with updating information and navigation.

Everyone communicates and receives news announcements in Slack. To read the news in full, you need to follow the external link from Slack to the current WordPress blog.

The attributes of the social network will help the team to unite even more, and gamification will be able to give company members more motivation and interest in work + internal CRM optimizes the work of moderators.

We need a tool that will allow them to:

- Keep track of trending topics within the company.
- It will give a new communication tool to workers.
- Make the information they need fast and accessible.
- In the future, expand the service for the company.

In order to confirm or refute our hypothesis, we conducted a Goal-oriented study: Interviews with the staff.

The system of additional incentives for employees:

In addition, it was proposed to create a system of additional incentives for employees based on KPI and merit to the company.

To do this, we proposed to create a system of virtual money (coins) that employees will receive for merit. With the received virtual coins, an employee can order a real item with merchandise from the company.

We proposed to implement all this functionality in the CRM system.

I will talk about it below.

Studying popular social networks

In order to start development, I had to understand what functions in social networks are the most important. In order to start development with them and quickly create an MVP.

I combined the information collected during communication with colleagues and the study of the functions of social networks.

Key Scenarios

Design System

The design system was made in Figma. All components, styles and fonts have been installed into the library. Thanks to this, all elements of the design system can be used in other files.

Also, the design system was created in the form of a list convenient for developers.

Design of all pages and interactions.

I skipped the Wireframes step in the portfolio as there is nothing interesting there. Also, I didn't spend a lot of time on wireframes.

Design of the adaptive WEB version

In addition, I created each page in several sizes for different screens. Thanks to constraints in Figma and AutoLayout, creating responsive versions is very convenient.

Usability Tests

In order to understand how convenient and understandable the interface I created for users. I did the User Study Usability Test.
Each participant was given a task, for example: "Create a group in the portal." The user should have performed this action while I was there. I observed what difficulties users face.

Employee incentive system

We have developed a system in which employees can receive "Coins" for certain merits, both personal and to the company.
Employees can spend the received coins on ordering and purchasing various merchandise from the company.

Here is a list of "Achievements" for which an employee can receive "Coins"

Mobile web version.

In order to make it convenient for users to use the site from mobile devices, I created a special mobile version from scratch.
It's not just adaptive. All Guidelines are taken into account here and the interface is completely redone for one-handed control.

iOS native version

After creating a mobile web version, a request was received to create a native mobile application.
I created a design from scratch for ios in android.
The design complies with all Human Interface Guidelines and Material Design guidelines.

Android Material Design native version

Of course, in addition to the ios version, I created a design for a native Android application
